This is the first time a Japanese airline has used this airplane.
Combines のは (nominalizer) with 初めて (first time). Also: 寿司を食べるのは初めてです (It's my first time eating sushi).
のは将动词名词化，配合初めて使用。例：寿司を食べるのは初めてです（第一次吃寿司）。
